21 Weeks...my Banana!

I thought it would be fun to look at how my belly has blossomed in the past 22 weeks.  I can't believe I felt like I was actually showing at 7 weeks!!!
I am 22 weeks today!  Over halfway to meet our new baby.  I am feeling really well, except for the occasional get up and puke first thing in the morning.  For the most part the morning sickness has stopped, but I do have it maybe once a week now.  This girl knows when I am hungry and won't let me get by without feeding her ASAP!!  Olivia has been really sweet when it comes to talking about her sister.  I know that will probably change once reality hits, but for now it's very cute.  We were talking the other day about when her sister is her and Olivia keeps saying she wants to feed her a bottle, change her diaper, and dress her up.  I told Olivia that her sister will cry a lot too.  Olivia said she will put on her Ariel tail and sing to her.  And also this morning I was laying in bed waiting to feel a kick and I told Olivia that we needed to wake her sister up and Olivia said "I will sing my Ariel song to her" So, she started singing "Part of Your World".
The baby is now the size of a spaghetti squash is is approx. 11 inches and weighs approx 1 pound!

What in heaven's name is a spaghetti squash?

Your pictures are gorgeous and so moving to look at. I love the progress ya know? The growing part.

Olivia will be great with her sister, I have no doubt. I think she is in for an awakening but that is natural. I think it helps a lot that she is already thinking of ways to help her.

I wish I had said more to Samuel about how much I would love Sawyer. I think he would have been a little more prepared. Samuel was 3 and half when his brother was born, similar to O. I think he thought of the baby like other children I love like the daycare kids, the dog or cousins. I think I didn't put enough emphasis on how this baby is as important as him, that I would love Sawyer LIKE I love him. That would have helped I think. You can decide if you take that advice but I think it would have helped us. Samuel was waiting for him to leave at the end of the day or weekend. He didn't have the right picture that this baby was staying and was so important to us.

As far as the flashcards go, you are doing it right just by going over them with her period. I wish every parents concentrated on letters and sounds more than anything else. It prepares them totally for reading...which is the most important thing. I am not making the mistake I made with Samuel, with Sawyer. I am pushing phonics early so that when I have to teach him to read, we are half way there.

It was great to hear from you.

YOu look great!! It sesms like it is goign very fast. I remember when Olivia was a tiny baby and now she is almost 3! Wow!
I'm sure Olivia will adjust to the change quickly! If you include her in things and talk to her and all that, she should be good to go. :)
