I had my 22 week appointment today. It was scheduled for 10 am, but after Olivia and I waited for an hour (my doctor usually runs on time) and we were literally the next exam room he was coming in he received a call from the hospital. He had a patient who was 8 cm dialated and the head was crowning. So, I had to go back at 2 pm today. No big deal, it doesn't take that long to get to his office (just across the Big Mac bridge on Reading Rd) so we grabbed some lunch, went home for about 2 hours and headed back to his office. Plus I kept thinking that will be me in a few months and I know I want him there!!!!
My appointment went really well. The baby actually kicked the doppler while he was listening to her heartbeat and she was moving around A LOT. He told me that usually with 2nd pregnancies labor is reduced to about 1/3 of the time from the first pregnancy. So, I reminded him I was in labor with Olivia for 30 hours and he said hopefully we will be able to shave about 10 hours off this time. So, I could possibly still be in labor for 20 hours! Of course that is all just study related and I could be in labor for less time (or more).
He is going to do another ultrasound my next appointment to confirm my due date. My first ultrasound the ultrasound tech said according to the baby's measurements I am due closer to June 19th rather than the 14th. He said if the second ultrasound shows the same he will move my due date. Regardless its a matter of 5 days, so I am not too concerned about it. I will also do my glucose challenge test next visit (gross). With Olivia I drank the orange flavored drink, but this time I am going to try the fruit punch. The orange flavor made me gag a few times, so I am hoping the fruit punch will taste a little better to me. He said he will also start my internal exams next visit! I can't believe how quickly it seems this pregnancy is going. I will be just about 27 weeks when I go back...kind of crazy!!

That does seem fast. You are getting close.
They only had Orange flavor when I did it and I am NOT a fan of orange flavoring in anything. It was tough.
That is cool that you get new pictures of your baby girl at another ultrasound.
I think of you often. Praying God will continue to truly bless this new blessing/journey...blourney! Hey I just made that up.
Wow - I can't believe he's gonna start interanl exams already - 27 weeks seems early for that! I was in labor with Gavin for 32 hours and then with Avery for only 8 hours, so that is definitely much better! I bet yours will be quicker than 20 hours for a second baby!

I thought 27 weeks sounded early too. Maybe he was saying after my next visit he will start internal exams, since I'd be 31 weeks. But then I think he did start them right around 28 weeks with Olivia...guess I'll see. I'd rather wait. Maybe he will since I am getting an ultrasound and doing my glucose...seems like a lot in one day!
