Open For Business???
Matt and I were discussing the other night how great it would be if I could start my own business. Not necessarily a business, but something that is of interest to me, that I enjoy doing and make money off it! I've got a few thoughts and really don't know where to start! I am thinking of doing something either with baking (which I love to bake all kinds of desserts) and our friends have a friend who makes cakes, cheesecakes etc...from her home and sells them. So, I thought if I could do something like that it would be fun! I am also thinking of perhaps making jewelery, purses, or home photography. I want to research it all before I do something about it. I think it would be fun. Even if its more of a hobby for me, it will be good. Maybe, eventually, hopefully someday I would make money off of whatever it is that tickles my fancy! I would love to get a sewing maching and design my own clothes too. That would be a hobby for me and to design things that are unique....

sounds like fun but it will end up being a lot of work. but as long as it is something you enjoy doing, it should be fun.
go for it. i will give oyu advice though. everyone tells me to start a photography business all the time and I realized with research that it is SO competetive and costly that we small businesses could never compete with 102 portraits for 1.99 specials. We could find a handful of customers willing to make 10 times that but not enough. I like the baking idea because it would take very little start up equiptment. I knwo a lady making a small fortune form making homemade gourmet dog treats right out of her house. What about that for KY? It is baking.
Gourmet dog treats is a good idea too!
Well good luck, I think a lot of us dream of being able to make money doing something we love and hopefully you'll be able to actually do it!! Keep us updated so we can continue to cheer you on!!!
that sounds fantastic. i hope it all works out for you.
