Now that I have shared my pregnancy and labor and delivery, its time to talk about my little miss!! She may only be 3 weeks old, but I can already tell she is going to be a strong, confident girl! She was literally an hour old and my mother in law was holding her and she lifted her head!! No joke! She does it all the time! The second she came out she was sucking her fingers, in fact she was born with a sucking blister on her middle finger! So, I have no problems feeding her, she took right to a bottle with no problem!
Our first night home was terrible! She did not sleep, but maybe an hour or two neither did I!! My mom and mother in law were with us and they didn't know what to do either. It was pretty annoying! Things are starting to get better now, she sleeps from about 11 pm to 4 am, wakes, eats then goes back to sleep for a few hours. However, she does go thru a crying/fussy time each night around 8 pm and it lasts for a couple of hours, if anyone has advice what to do! Its gets pretty frustrating not knowing what she wants and we try everything!
Anyways, she is a bundle of joy and is starting to respond to our voices and focus on me when I am feeding her or changing her diaper. We have this little play mat thing with monkeys and elephants and things hanging from it that we lay her on each night and she bats at the different animals! Its really cute! Or she'll sit and just watch the animals!
I love all her little noises she makes right now, especially when she eats its really cute! She is a loud breather too, I've never heard a baby breathe as loud as she does, its of course cute too!
She may be small in size and have no clothes that fit her, but she is going to be big on personality!
She goes back to the doctor for her month check up Monday! I can't believe she'll be a month old on Saturday already! It seems to go slow, but at the same time fast!
I am looking forward to her smiling at me for the first time.

Enjoy every moment.......there only this small for a very short time! I'm so glad you are enjoying motherhood.......ain't it grand!?? ha ha
Well, I will tell you that when our boys were fussy (each night at a certain time too), we would swaddle them tightly (we did this until they crawled out of their swaddle) and held them tight skin to skin (their face to my face or chest. If that doesn't work, you can always try a bath. my sister Cheryl swore by it with her son. It worked all the time for her. The sound of the vaccum works for many and you could always feed her a little more. Baby sit ups are great too to release gas. Probably gently bouncing and talking quietly to her will do the trick. Sometimes, though, nothing works and you have to bite your lip, pray and move on.
Glad to see you are in the blog world! I think you have more posts than me already!
I can't wait to see my sweet baby niece, Olivia, again. Maybe we can get together this weekend?
My favorite sound was when Ryan was eating, they are just so happy like that nasty formula is the greatest stuff on Earth. As for fussiness, I always used water. A bath or a shower always made him happy or at least distracted him. Sometimes when we were out he would get so fussy and I would run his feet under water in a bathroom, unbelievable but it worked. The other thing is they say if you bounce them or pat their butts and make a gentle sound they stop crying they can't concentrate on too many things at once so they stop crying to pay attention to everything else. It worked for Ryan to get him back to sleep but not for those really fussy moments. It all gets easier. it is so much fun.
I checked out your sister Amy's blog and commented! She needs to post pictures of Avery and Gavin, I have seen them in forever!
