Thank You For The Prayers...Now The Explantion...

I didn't want to go into detail on my previous post until I knew more. So, now that I know, I want to explain what's going on.

Matt has done really well with his job. He has more liscences and certifications than anyone I know. What he does now is all over the phones. He's got a client base of about 47,000. What he really wants is to work in a branch. He would have face to face contact, which he has the perfect personality for. There is a branch here in Cincinnati, but the salary is not worth the drive to Hyde Park everyday. He literally works 6 miles from home...its off the same road our neighborhood is on.

In order for him to make a sufficient amount more money at a branch we would have to relocate. I am not a big fan of relocating and not being able to see my family whenever we want. However, this is something Matt strives for.

Last week an opening became available at a branch. The branch is in Hilton Head. Matt & I discussed it and I gave him my blessing to talk with his manager whom she would then talk to the director of his group to recommend him for an interview. It was a huge thing for me to agree to this. I don't want to move to Indianapolis, let alone somewhere that's 12 hours from home! But I don't want Matt to resent me for holding him back. We know plenty of people who have relocated for jobs & do fine. I am here to support him.

Well, today his manager told him its his decision, but she recommends not interviewing for it at this time. He will talk to her more tomorrow & find out why she doesn't want him to interview, but most likely its probably because they have someone in mind already.

So, thank you again. I put this all in God's hands and He obviously wants us here...atleast for now.

OMG! I just saw this - you didn't say anything when I saw you on Wednesday!!!! Well, I will pray selfishly that you stay here! I would hate for you to be that far away. I understand though - I think it's a good thing for you to be willing to help Matt in his career.

Well, I am glad you are staying. I have lived your very story. I moved to California though. I would be happy to share my experience if you ever want to hear it. Love you and glad it all worked out.
