Our Turn For The Zoo

We went to the zoo yesterday. Since Cheryl & Charity have gone, I felt like it was our turn to go! We actually tried going in May during Zoo Babies, but were unable to get into the parking lot. So, we tried again yesterday and we were successful! It was a nice day and although it was busy, it wasn't very crowded. The pictures I posted are a little out of order, but you get the idea. One picture I wanted I didn't get because Matt was not around and he had the camera....Olivia got to pet a penguin! A zookeeper was talking all about the penguins and he had an actual penguin sitting in the middle of the floor. Olivia saw it and started to walk right up to it because she wanted to pet it. When I told her she can't just walk up to random penguins to pet them she started crying. Luckily at the end of the zookeepers talk he walked around with the penguin and we were able to pet it. Here are a few pictures of our day!

Here she is in front of the penguin exhibit. We walked through this exhibit 4 times, the girl LOVES penguins!
Here we are feeding the goats. She was cracking up when she fed them. I wish I had it on video.

I wanted to get pictures of her and Matt petting the goats, so I didn't go in to pet them

When we saw the elephants I asked her if they looked like Dumbo and she said "Yeah, and I rode Magic Carpets too"

Everytime we are at the zoo I want to feed the giraffes, but we miss there feedings by 30 minutes EVERYTIME!!!

A zookeeper was talking all about gorillas too. Very interesting information he had regarding their lifespan, gestational period and that humans and gorillas have the same amount of body hair! Things I didn't know until yesterday.

Here she is weighing herself in bugs. I wanted Matt to get the actual number, but he didn't. Anyways...she weighs 4.1 million in bugs.

I would have loved to see her petting the penguin! How cute!
I would hate to think of what I weigh in bugs if she weighs that much!!
It looks like you had a nice trip to Galion. You were about an hour - maybe a bit more - away from me. Did you wave?
