Projects

This is the cabinets before...this is actually sanded down and ready to paint.
This is the hall bathroom before...YUCK!

I have been working on our two bathrooms upstairs. I never have like the plain oak cabinets in the bathrooms or in our kitchen. They are nice, sturdy, practically new cabinets, but I have never had a thing for oak. Instead of replacing our vanities, I decided to paint them! I learned this on HGTV and thought I would give it a try. I thought if it worked and looked good for our bathroom cabinets I will paint our kitchen cabinets too. Matt and I are both really happy with how it all turned out! Here are a few pics....

This is our hall bath...its not completely finished. I still need to purchase hardware for the cabinet doors and I will "frame" in the mirror. We are also going to replace the blockbuster lightbulbs...we are just waiting on my dad to do it :)

I also painted the hall bathroom. I never liked the old color (pale green) and I didn't like our old shower curtain.
See the nice, new, up to date cabinets! I love them!
This is our bathroom off of our room. We got a new shower curtain the other day and put our old shower curtain in the hall bathroom. I need to steam it..it's very wrinkled!

You can see the "framed" mirror. I bought 2-7 ft. pieces of trim. I had my dad cut the trim to fit the mirror, painted the trim and hung it with wood glue. I still am working on getting some of the glue off the mirror!

I'm the opposite - I LOVE oak! My favorite is hickory though - I think that is just beautiful. I hope to do our next house with hickory (at least the kitchen). That looks very nice though! You little HGTV girl :)

wow! i'm normally not a fan of painting wood - in my family, it's considered a sacrilege - but that looks great. i love the mirror, too.
