Good News!

Matt got a new position at Fidelity! I am so happy and excited for him (us). He interviewed for it once last year and didn't get the position and the opportunity came up again. His interview was a little over two weeks ago and its been a long two weeks of waiting and waiting and waiting. This position is his dream job. He will be a certified financial planner and the bonuses are out of this world. He will have a month of training and then he will have to get a certificate of financial planning, which means he will be doing online classes. Its 200 hours and the classes are on Monday and Wednesday's from 5-7:30. He can do the class either at work on his computer or at home, so I think he will do the majority at work (for peace and quiet) and he will do some hours at home too. They interviewed 38 and are hiring 6-8 for the job and Matt was the number 1 pick!!!! He was the first one to get offered the job today and the number one pick out of the three managers that interviewed him! I am so proud of him.

It will be a rough year (those are Matt's words) due to his studying and training etc...but its going to be worth it. This also means that he is more excited and feels more at ease about giving Olivia a sibling! That's the best part! So, we want to wait until he gets through his 200 hours (which he should be done about a year from now) and then we will start trying!!! We truly are blessed and he has done so well at Fidelity.

The little stinker tricked me though (he often does). He called me around 5:30 and said he got word that he didn't get the job, he said it was due to inexperience and that he was really bummed and coming home in a little bit. When I got off the phone with him I thought that maybe he was pulling my leg, but didn't want to get my hopes up thinking that. He walked in the door about 3 minutes after we got off the phone and he said "I'm just playing, I got the job" Oh what a relief!!

that really is great news. good for him and your family. i am thrilled for you. so, your kids will be about 3 years apart. that is how far apart my kids are and I wish they were closer. if they are opposite sexes it will be easier though.

Wow that's awesome!! It's great when things work out like that. Our kids are 2 years and 9 months apart. I think it's a pretty good age difference. Once they are as old as mine are, they are pretty much on the same level for playing so the age thing doesn't really come up too much. I hope the year goes smoothly for him.

We're going to go out tomorrow to Cheesecake Factory. We were going to go to Montgomery Inn, but I bought ribs at Kroger so I am going to make those Thursday.
