Well, I thought I would write a little about my pregnancy. Matt and I decided to try for a baby last year and we pretty much said the word and I was pregnant! I found out I was pregnant on June 10, 2006. I remember it like it was yesterday! The day before I took my pregnancy test I was at work and we had ordered chinese food. I typically am NOT a chinese type person, but it sounded REALLY good to me! I remember eating the whole thing and Crystal said to me "You ate that whole thing" I said I know, I am really hungry today! Then Crystal just got this look on her face like she knew what was going on! So, that night Matt and I were about and we went to Walgreens. I bought a HPT and could not WAIT to take it the next morning. I got up at 7:30 am and it immediately turned positive! Matt fell asleep dowstairs watching tv so I ran downstairs, woke him up and said "I'm prengnat!" He said "REALLY!!" and kissed me and said Congratulations! I then called my sister who was in Columbus visiting friends. She didn't answer her phone so I hung up. SHe called me back right away and said There is only one reason she would be getting a phone call that early! She of course was thrilled to pieces and I couldn't wait to tell my parents! Matt and I had plans to go to lunch with them that afternoon, so I ran down to Walgreen's and got 2 bibs one said I love my Grandma and the other said I love my Grandpa. I put them in a bag and hid them in my car. We went to Cheeseburger in Paradise for lunch. We sat down to eat and I said I would be right back, went out to my car got the bibs and told them I had got them something. My dad thought it was a joke and I was giving them some type of hodge podge gift! My mom opened the bag and started to cry! It was awesome! My dad then saw the bibs and I think he got a little teary eyed too. I could not wait to tell everyone! I already had a doctor's appointment set for June 14th for my yearly with Dr. Draznik (which by the way is the greatest doctor ever!!!)
I went to see him on the 14th and he confirmed my pregnancy, gave me a bunch of things to look over and gave me my due date of February 16, 2007. I was only 4 weeks pregnant so of course those first 12 weeks are the most crucial so I was a little terrified of having a miscarriage.
I started getting morning sickness on July 2, 2006! I threw up Mac and cheese (which is weird to think because Olivia's formula makes her smell like mac and cheese!) My morning sickness lasted for 10 LONG weeks! Luckily, I would get up and get ready for work, puke and feel better the rest of the day. I guess it could have been worse and I could have been sick all day long!
I heard her heartbeat for the first time on July 9, 2006, I was nine weeks pregnant. Matt didn't go with me to that visit because I was told we may not be able to hear it that early on. Of course I heard it and it was the neatest thing ever! Matt went with me two weeks later just to hear her hearbeat.
The first time I felt movement was August 2, 2006. I was 14 weeks pregnant and we were at Buckhead Grill in Newport with my family. I was uncertain what I was feeling at the time. It felt like a little punch or something, not butterflies like I thought it would feel like, but more of just a little punch and it was so quick it was hard to distinguish. I described it to my sister and she said it was probably the baby!!!!
IT'S A GIRL! I had my ultrasound September 29, 2006...Matt was certain we were having a boy, but the ultrasound tech said "Its a girl" and there was not a doubt in her mind it was anything but! Olivia was spread eagle! Matt at that point said as long as she's healthy is what matters. I then didn't have to have another ultrasound because things were progressing very well. My weight was good, blood pressure good it was an awesome pregnancy. Well, towards the end of my pregnancy my belly was not measuring the amount of weeks I was at. I was about 3 or 4 weeks behind according to my belly measurements. Dr. Draznik said I would probably not have a big baby, which is good for me because my labor and delivery wouldn't be as bad. For precautions he ordered another ultrasound to check on her growth and to make sure I had enough amniotic fluid. I was petrified something would be wrong with my baby, up to this point I had a great pregnancy and to think something may be wrong was horrible. I had my ultrasound on January 23, 2007. WHEW, everything was good! Dr. DRaznik said I would just have a small baby and at the time of my ultrasound she was 5 lbs 5 oz. He predicted around 6 1/2 lbs.
So, the next few weeks were just a matter of waiting to see when she would make her appearance! As the weeks grew closer my sister would call me just about everday wondering if I was feeling any type of labor pain! Of course I wasn't and she would call and check the next day! My last doctor's appointment was February 12, 2007 and Dr. Draznik said nothing was happening with my cervix and if I didn't go into labor on my own by Friday (the 16th, my due date) he would induce me the following week. So, I thought I would have atleast another week of hanging out and doing my own thing, planning to be induced boy was I wrong!!!
To Be Continued...
