10 Week Appointment

We got back from the doctor a little while ago.  He tried using the doppler to hear the heartbeat. After searching for a few minutes and still unable to hear the heartbeat he brought in the ultrasound machine.  My heart was pounding, worrying and praying everything was/is ok.  It was amazing to see this little kumquat in my belly.  My doctor said the baby  (there is only one) was laying on his/her side and sucking its thumb.  He saw the heart flickering away.  My eyes are horrible and I couldn't see the heart beating, but Matt said it was flickering fast and of course my doctor saw it, so that made me feel so much better.  I will see his midwife in December and my appointment after that in January will be my ultrasound and we should hopefully be able to find out the sex!  Olivia told my doctor she wants a girl....
