Busy August

I have been so busy with painting our living room (again) it hasn't left me much room for anything else. My house is suffering from it too! Our bathrooms are so dirty that the toilets have dirt rings around them. I know that was probably too much info, but my house is very rarely in this condition that I am ashamed! Its hard to paint and have a 17 month old running all around me and touching the wet walls, having to stop every 5 minutes for something she needs (or wants) and keeping my sanity all at the same time. Its a lot easier when Matt is home to entertain her, but if I waited on him each night to take care of her it would be another month before I finished.

We are getting ready to go to Gatlinburg on the 17th. I am looking forward to getting away for a few days. We are meeting our friends Brooke and Jason and their twin boys. They live in North Carolins, so its not very often we see them now. We aren't staying in the same resort as them, but we are fairly close.

Our August has (is) very busy. Every weekend we have something going on and a few of them are out of town things. We went to the Kanye West concert last Friday. My work has a suite at US Bank Arena. Amy (from work) won 12 tickets to the concert and she knows that Matt and I would want to go so she offered us two tickets. It was a lot of fun. The only downside is since we were in the suite we were ABOVE the speakers, so it was hard understand the words or what song. I discovered if I plugged my ears that I could hear better, so I did that part of the night. There was 3 total performances. 1st was Lupe Fiasco...I know a few of his songs, then after him N.E.R.D. came on which was very good. They pulled a bunch of girls up on stage and the girls got to dance. I was jealous! Then Kanye West, which he was the headliner, put on an excellent show. All the lights and different effects he uses was really neat. It was a really good time. I always feel guilty when I do go to things like that. I feel like I should be doing something with Olivia rather than hanging out and having a good time.

We went to the dog park on Sunday. Huck would rather talk with the humans than the dogs, but Olivia enjoyed watching all the dogs. Two big dogs were "rough housing" and Olivia did not like that at all. She cried and repeated "dog dog" several times and she also looked to make sure Huck wasn't in the middle fo the brawl.

We also went to Kings Island for my company picnic a couple weeks ago. It was nice, but way too hot. I wish I could alter the weather when we have to go to outdoor things like that! The same week as Kings Island we had a pregnancy...I don't know what the right words are, not a scare, but a "not ready at this time" scare. I am not pregnant, but I was 5 days late, which is not normal for me. I am usually right on schedule. I took a test and it was negative, but I was going to be happy whatever the outcome. The next day I started and when I told Matt I had started he told me that he was already starting to think of different names he likes. I thought that was sweet. Guess we're still on our plan of waiting 'til next summer to get preggers.

That's about it. This weekend Matt is going to Louisville for a bachelor party and I am going to hang out with my parents. The Taste of Colerain is this weekend, so I think I might try and go to that.

yeah painting must be hard with her needing you. welcome to my life sister-friend! It is hard but it does get done!

Your August sounds fun even if it is busy. I like weekend trips. I also like Gatlinburg a lot. It may not be Disney but it is simply fun versus crazy all over the place fun.

Olivia is precious! I think it is cool how much she likes her dog...very sweet.

Sorry you weren't pregnant! Would have been cool...for us anyway!
