Fainting Spell

Yesterday while at work, I was making an appointment for our patient. I was looking at the computer screen and asking her at the same time if she wanted to come in on a Tuesday morning or Thursday afternoon. AsI looked up at her she looked real funny to me. Her eyes rolled in the back of her head and she fainted. She hit the floor really hard. I was scared she hit her head and had a concussion. I yelled, and I mean YELLED "POLLY! POLLY"! Polly is Dr. Williams nurse and she she came running out saying "What"? and I said back to her "Patient passed out"! She ran over to the patient the patient was shaking and I thought for a second she was having a seizure. Luckily it was just being shaken up and scared. Polly gave her smelling salt and sat her upright. We made her sit on the couch for about 15 minutes until she finished drinking a Sprite.

I was talking to the patient and she said this happens to her sometimes. She said the thought of veins and blood (she consulted about her spider veins) makes her queazy. She has a son who is 2 or 3 and I asked her what she did while she was pregnant, having to have her blood pressure taken at each appointment and having blood drawn. She said she warned her doctor's office in advance so they would make her lay down for any of that!!! She said she did fine when she actually delivered him!

I was shaken up for a couple hours after she left. I was so worried she fell and hit her head hard but she said she landed on her butt. Bonnie told me later on when I started yellling for Pollys
she thought something was wrong with me!
