I am starting to prepare for my grandma and aunt's visit in a couple weeks. I have started my list of things I want done and cleaned by the time they arrive. Its going to be fun. I can't wait to see them again.
I have started cleaning and organizing my closet. I need to do it atleast twice a year because it starts to feel cluttered and I like to reorganize it. I have also started cleaning and reorganizing Olivia's closet Amazingl she has outgrown a lot of her things from last summer. I say that because from the time she was born to the fall/winter she was still fitting into a lot of the clothes she wore as a newborn, so I was thinking she would still fit into some things from last summer. It makes me sad every time I have to put away something of hers...amost like starting a new chapter.
Speaking of chapters, I started reading a new book lastnight. I couldn't tell you when the last time I actually sat and read an entire book from cover to cover. My friend from work was telling me how good it is and she is letting me borrow it. Actually its two book the first one is called "Twilight" and the second is a sequel to it called "New MOoon". It has something to do with vampires, but she said its also romantic, so I am excited to get into it. The only problem is I don't have much time to read during the day until the evening when Olivia falls asleep then I am also tired so I will only be able to read a few pages each night!!
I am getting a season pass to Kings Island. Matt decided he was going to get season tickets for UC football again so to make it up to me he is going to buy me a season pass to KI. Since my family has one already it will be nice to go up with them and go with my friend Heather and her two kids during the week when its not as crowded as the weekends.
I talked to my friend Brandy lastnight, she just had the baby. They named him Joseph Dean. She wound up having a cesarean because after being on pitocin for several hours she wasn't dialating at all. She did have toxemia so that is why they induced her two weeks early. She said she felt everything during her c-section. She said that as soon as they pulled him out she screamed and they gave her morphine and she passed out. She didn't get to hold him or anything which she was very sad and disappointed. She thinks he has acid reflux and she described exactly evertyhing that Olivia did when she had acid reflux. I feel for her, I really do. I know exactly how she feels right now and it stinks. He also is jaundice, so they have to take him to the doctor today to check him out. She's trying to breastfeed on top of it all and she thinks she is going to supplement with formula because of the jaundice. Other than that she is doing ok, we plan on going to Indy in a few weeks to visit with them. I can't wait to meet him!
We are planning on going to Mansfield next weekend to visit Matt's mom. We haven't been there since Thanksgiving so I guess we're due for a trip. I hate the drive and I really don't like the town! Its just blah and boring. Nothing much to do, but we usually try to make the best of it. Matt's mom hasn't seen Olivia since her birthday, but that is pretty typical. She doesn't like to drive down here in the "city traffic" and we don't like to drive there!!!
Alright, Olivia's throwing a fit. Ciao.

I hated when I had to get rid of Ryan's little outfits that I loved. Or when he out grows toys, I realize how old he is getting. It is so sad.
Have a good weekend trip!!
It will be fun to see your next baby wear the outfits that Olivia wore though....if you have another girl. I saved everything from Cam and it tickles him to wear clothes that his bubba wore too! ha Oh, I would LOVE a KI pass! My inlaws live 2 mins from KI and it would be sooo cool to have a pass!
yeah KI passes make much more sense than paying even once!! Glad you are getting one.
one of my biggest joys in life is when my baby wears his brother's old clothes. Oh, I love it.
If your friend's baby is jaundice it is even more reason to breast feed him. I know docs are probably saying the opposite (they almost always resort to supplementing) but my son was terribly jaundice. Sawyer was even on a machine for it. They told me that I only had to supplement if he lost any weight or wasn't eating often.
The best thing for her to do is for that baby to nurse round the clock as much as he will. Eating brings them out of it. It worked for Sawyer but it was scary.
AS soon as it becomes an option to use formula, it is easy just to do that all the time. I increasingly did that with Sammy and wouldn't let myself make that mistake with Sawyer. I hope he continues to thrive and do well. God bless them.
YAY! I'm glad you're getting KI pass - we can go up together on Wednesdays!! Make sure you get the platinum pass though so you can use it to get into Cedar Point too! I agree with Sonya on the breastfeeding - the best thing for a baby with jaundice is to be breastfed around the clock - it works to get rid of the jaundice much quicker than formula. I'll never understand why doctors recommend supplementing for a jaundice baby! I just started a new book too. You'll have to tell me how you like the ones you got - if they are good I will look for them at the library.
