We are well on our way to the playroom being finished! I am so excited. I picked out carpet yesterday and they came and measured the room this morning! The walls are painted. The color is called Ionic Sky...its very pretty, but bright enough for a playroom. I will take pictures once its completely finished. My dad is here today putting up the baseboard and the doors. He then will be putting in a drop ceiling. Once the playroom is finished we are going to move a lot of Olivia's toys down there. However we are silly people and when we moved here last year we had our t.v. set up downstairs so we go downstairs in the unfinished basement to watch t.v. We have a small one in our room (temporarily because we hate the idea of having t.v. in our bedroom) so we have been watching t.v. in our room a lot so we don't have to take Olivia down in the cold. Since the playroom will be finished soon we are going to move our t.v. in there and it will stay in there for her. When the rest of the basement is finished we are going to get a flatscreen to put above a fireplace.
I am worried about seating for her birthday party so I have decided since the playroom is big enough we will move our furniture that is downstairs in the playroom temporarily. Its not my ideal thing to do, but we have to do what we gotta do to make things work!
We got an AWESOME deal on our carpet too. We looked at Big Bob's last week and Matt was dead set on getting berber for the playroom. I personally think berber is hideous. California berber is different than regular berber so I do like the kind Crystal has picked out. Well, since I was in charge of going to Buddy's and Dalton Direct I decided I would look at carpet I like! I got pricing on both the berber and the shag carpet. I talked to the sales woman and asked what is more durable berber or the shag. Both of them said the shag is way more durable (and nicer to look at and won't cause rug burns like the berber) This was two different stores thatI asked their opinion and I basically got the same response. Needless to say I got what I wanted :) Its only about $100 more for the shag which is well worth it considering its going to last longer. We wound up buying it from Buddy's. They have a HUGE sale right now and they are about $200-$300 cheaper than the other two places.
They will call tomorrow to set up the installation date! I am wanting it installed by the 13th so I will have a couple days to get things together!~

Oh i love berber. I think it is beautiful. Of course, i am not with it in the sense of what is hot and all that. I just like what I like.
I am glad you got what you wanted. That is awesome. I hope you have a fantastic first birthday party for her. We always do big firsts too.
I hate berber too.....too flat for me! The California berber and shag are more plush looking and comfy. I love it! I can't wait to see your pictures of the finished playroom! I bet it will look awesome!
Can't wait to see the new carpet!!
Oh how exciting...can't wait to see the pictures!
