2 Month Check Up

Olivia had her 2 month check up today which means she got 4 shots :( Poor thing cryed and I cryed, I just wanted to hold her tight after it was all done. she weighs 10 lbs 3 oz and is 22 inches long! The doctor said her growth is stellar!!! Since we have been home she's been sleepy and a little more fussy! Hard to believe she is 2 months old already! Her doctor also put her back on Axid to help relieve her acid reflux. He also said I need to let her cry it out at nightime so she can sleep in her crib. Its just so hard to do when I know she is most comfortable sleeping on my chest. Even though I KNOW its dangerous and its best for her to sleep in her crib. He said it will be a tough 2 weeks, but the sooner we break the habit the better. I will try tonight, but if she crys too hard I will get her out since she got her shots today!!

You definitely want her to sleep in her bed and not actually ON you but I would recommend getting one of those cosleepers. It's a little bed that connects to your bed so you can be right there with her but she can sleep on her own as well.........I so wish they had those when my boys were small! Definitely keep her in the same room with you though......we waited until Daws was 6 or 7 mos before we moved him into his own room.

not to mention she is only 2 months old. That seems young to elt her cry it out. I say do what you want and worry about it in 2 months

I have no advice on the sleeping thing Ryan slept with us every night until he was 2 and a half. I hated shots, Ryan always ran a high fever 24 hours afterwards and was sooooo cranky. Hopefully Olivia does better. Good Luck!!

my boys showed almost no effects from shots

I agree. Keep her in there with you for awhile longer, just not in your bed. Those cosleeper things sound awesome!

Yeah we didn't have much reaction to shots here. We were sticklers for our kids sleeping in their own beds, but not until they were 3 or 4 months old. Until then, we slept with them, or at least one of us did. Until they got down to just getting up two or three times a night, it just didn't make sense to keep going in to get them. We usually let them get up two or three times a night until one year old and then we knew they were getting enough food to not be hungry at night and they were fine, so we let them cry it out a night or two and then they were fine. We both really love our sleep and like having our kids on a regular sleep schedule!! That's one thing we're both real picky about. It worked for us and I think that's the most important part, to try and figure out what works best for your family.
